chris Los Angeles, Feb 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) American Idol contestant Chris Golightly, has now been disqualified, from the show. He had earlier been named as a semi finalist on the show, but now Tim Urban has replaced him. “It has been determined that Chris Golightly is ineligible to continue in the competition,” the network said in a press statement. “American Idol contestant Tim Urban has replaced Golightly as part of the Top 24.” No explanatory details about Chris’s disqualification, were released to the media.

Reportedly other sources say that the real reason behind his disqualification, is that he was under a contract with a boy band. Chris Golightly in his defense, said that the contract expired last year, whereas his previous manager said that Chris Golightly is still bound by the contract. It seems that he was disqualified from the show, on this basis. The contract release letter did turn up, but unfortunately by the time it made its appearance, he already had been disqualified from the show, and had also lost his semi-final berth to Tim Urban.

Besides the replacement of Chris, the other male semifinalists who were announced on Wednesday were Andrew Garcia, 24, Moreno Valley, Calif.; Tyler Grady, 20, Nazareth, Pa.; Alex Lambert, 19, North Richland Hills, Texas; Joe Munoz, 20, Huntington Park, Calif.; John Park, 21, Evanston, Ill.; and Jermaine Sellers, 27, Joliet, Ill.
