Apr 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ryan Seacrest has been acting quite erratically lately, one of the contestants wants to quit, and after saving one contestant, the show lost two this week. After losing Paula Abdul, gaining Ellen DeGeneres, and looking at the upcoming loss of Simon Cowell next season, American Idol is Going Through Changes, but maybe the Sun’ll Come Out Tomorrow.

Reports have just surfaced which reveal Crystal Bowersox’s desire to leave the show a couple of weeks ago. This is a huge surprise since Crystal is one of the favorites who has been rocking the show since day one. According to TMZ, however, the star was all ready to leave the show two weeks ago, saying she could not take the stress and attention any longer and she wanted to go home. She confided in Ryan Seacrest, who told her, “The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house.” Apparently the heart to heart with Ryan worked, because Crystal stayed on.

And speaking of Ryan, many fans (including myself) have been wondering about his erratic behavior this season. He has been showing a good deal of aggression in his comments to Simon, and making up nicknames for other judges. This week for example, he called Simon SiCo, played the air guitar during performances, made an adverse remark about the former co-host of Idol (Brian Dunkleman) sat down for a strange chat with his mom who was in the audience, and grabbed a man for a slow dance during Tim Urban’s performance.

Ryan was recently cornered for an interview with The Los Angeles Times. About the dance he said, “I was enjoying it,” he said. “We’ve done this show for nine years. When they take me out into the audience, sometimes the energy out there takes me to a different place. I looked at the people and I was just having fun Tuesday night. That guy looked like the most inappropriate person to dance with, so I figured, ‘Let’s pick him up and just dance with him for a second.’ ” He added that sometimes he gets stuck in place as contestants take the stage, “I can’t actually get out of the location to get back to the side of the stage,” he said. “So sometimes I’ll do something like that to get past it. But that night, I was just enjoying it and having a good time. My mom was there in the audience, I was in a good mood!”

Tim Urban felt it was distracting, “It was a little weird, because people laughed at [Ryan] dancing in the middle of the song, so I had to zone it out,” Urban said. “I could kind of catch it in the corner of my eye that he was dancing. I just tried not to think about it.”

When asked why he has questioned Simon so harshly this season, Ryan answered, “The intent is never to press the judges’ buttons,” he said. “I’ve stood next to those kids for nine years. I can kind of sense body language when they have heard a critique where they’re not quite sure what it means, or that critique might be something that’s antithetical to the critique they heard three weeks ago, or two weeks ago, or a week ago! So the idea behind that is to try get a little bit of clarity.” He swears that he and Simon are friends offstage and added that losing Simon on the show will be like “losing my oxygen. I don’t know what it will be like without him next year.”
