After Mike was saved last week, there are no more saves available for the entire season. Another side effect of this save is the fact that two will go home this week. Who will they be? Well let’s find out. With Adam Lambert mentoring, and two going home, this is bound to be a crazy elimination night.

The top nine started off the show with a Medley of Elvis classics in honor of “Elvis Week” on American Idol. For those who follow music and may be interested, today also marked the 50th anniversary of the date on which Berry Gordy officially incorporated his “Tamla Records into Motown Records, which grew to be one of the most influential record labels in American History.

Casey, Andrew, and Aaron were the first three called up to hear the results of America’s vote. After being reminded by Ryan what each of the judges said to these guys, Andrew found out that it is the end of the road for him. Casey and Aaron are safe for another week! As much as I hate to be mean to anyone, I am glad Andrew is finally going home. He turned to the audience and yelled,”Love you guys!” His attitude of gratitude was to be commended, and with tears and hugs, Andrew is gone.

The American Idol Facebook page is currently posting statements from the contestants. Here are a few:

And now it is time to find out who else will be leaving Idol tonight. Lee, Siobhan, Katie, Mike, Crystal, and Tim all took the stage together to wait for Ryan’s reading of the results. Crystal is safe (no surprise there) Siobhan is safe, Lee is safe, and that leaves Tim, Mike and Katie to wait until after Adam Lambert’s performance before finding out who is going home. And what do ya know….my prediction was right. Yet again, Adam is singing “What Do Ya Want From Me?” Does he not know any other songs? Awesome swirling light show with “fog” and “lasers” though. I must admit, even though I am tired of the song, and Adam’s attitude since being an Idol contestant, he gives a good performance. He thanked American Idol for preparing him for the real world. “I owe this show everything,” he added.

And now Tim, Mike and Katie stand before us. After the long emotional journey, TIM IS SAFE! Wow! I cannot believe how much this boy has improved! And Mike is safe as well, so Kate will go home. Tears flowed like a river, especially from Siobhan and Crystal. This girl has done terrifically as well, and improved a great deal. It is sad to see her go. And her final song, “Let It Be” was absolutely beautiful…
