sugarNov 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After two years of wait, finally American country music sensation Sugarland settled their lawsuit with their group founder Kristen Hall, the media outlets report. Back in 2008, Kristen Hall filed a lawsuit against Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush stating that she was excluded from sharing profits from the band. The lawsuit claimed that the two band members previously agreed that Kristen Bell will receive profit from them after she left the band in 2005 to pursue her solo career.

It has been reported that the Sugarland band members were about to appear on court on Monday with Kristen Hall who claimed that she owes one-third of the band’s profit ($14 million) even after she left in 2005. U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten signed the court orders last Friday and said that both the parties reached an agreement in the end. However, the District Judge did not disclose the the terms and agreement of both the parties but he asked both sides to complete the agreement by December 13. The lawyers of both the parties were not available for comments. Kristen Hall claimed in her lawsuit that she coined the name of the band and at the same time allowed the band members to obtain equal “co-ownership” of the trademark and service mark of the band as a whole.

However, when the Sugarland members appeared on court before, they countered her lawsuit by saying that Kristen Hall never shared a profit sharing agreement with the band when she left in in 2005. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush sad that they had to repay almost $100,000 debts after Kristen Hall left the band. On the other hand, though both the parties have reached an agreement but she does not expect that the “parties would ever work together again”.
