walkDec 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As the AMC television series “The Walking Dead” nears its end, the post-apocalyptic horror drama is hogging the limelight for reasons other than its finale episode. If recent reports that have surfaced are anything to go by then, then Frank Darabont, the executive producer and director of the AMC series has fired the entire writing staff of the show! Sources have claimed that the producer himself intends to write a major chunk of the script for the second season and for the remaining part, freelancers are likely to be hired.

With the finale episode of the horror drama all set to be aired this Sunday, it is not very unusual for the makers of the series to let go of some of the writers following the conclusion of the current season. However, if the reports are indeed true then this would be the very first time when the entire writing staff of a series would be released. Insiders have revealed that the main reason which prompted Frank Darabont to take the decision of releasing the writing staff was owing to the fact that he wrote the scripts for the first two episodes as well as rewrote the rest of the four segments.

However, as of now AMC officials have stated that as of now any decision regarding any kind of changes in the production team of the season two of “The Walking Dead” has not been finalized. In the meanwhile, industry experts have also reiterated that such kind of a move can also backfire considering the fact that the current season of the zombie drama comprised of only six episodes while the next edition would have 13 episodes in total.
