oprahFeb 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The “Oprah Winfrey Show” featured on Feb 23, Tuesday, the parents of Amanda Knox, the girl who has been arrested and is currently serving a sentence for the murder of Meredith Kercher, a British exchange student, while she was studying in Perugia in Italy. The murder was extremely publicized, mostly because of the brutal manner in which it was committed, but also because of the bizarre behavior displayed by Amanda Knox after she was arrested. According to the reports of the police, after Amanda Knox was taken into custody, she behaved bizarrely, kissing her boyfriend and whooping in the police station itself.

The parents of Amanda Knox, Curt Knox and Edda Mellas, insisted in the Oprah Winfrey Show on the innocence of their daughter. Both parents insisted that Amanda Knox is absolutely innocent of the murder of Meredith Kercher. Asked about the behavior of Amanda Knox in the aftermath of the murder, and in fact after she was arrested, Amanda Knox’s parents claimed that she had acted in that way mainly because she was in shock over the murder of Meredith Kercher.

Curt Knox, also complained that the trial procedure that had been carried out could not come up with enough evidence to convict their daughter. He further insisted that the portrayal of Amanda Knox by the media, mainly as a deranged sex maniac, is totally wrong, and as far as it could be from the real person that she is. Comparing the trial carried out in the courtroom to the investigations by the media, he said that the stark difference between the two is very much noticeable, claiming hardly any evidence pulled up by the media holds ground in the court.
