Rome, Feb 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lifetime would go ahead and premiere the movie about Amanda Knox’s ‘true life’ story in Italy tonight.

Amanda’s lawyers tried unsuccessfully to block the release of the movie. The lawyers claimed that the movie does not have the true facts of the case and the release of the movie could damage the chances of their client having a fair trial during the appeal.

The movie, “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy” has stars like Hayden Panettiere who played Amanda Knox and Marcia Gay Harden as Amanda’s mother.

It may be recalled that Amanda has been sentenced to 26 years for murdering the British student Meredith Kercher some four years back.

The executive producer of the movie defends that the production of the movie is not based on the story from any side of the parties involved. Trevor Walton says they used materials from the court room and the events that happened during the trial to come out with the movie.

The director of the movie Robert Dornhelm said that, “I never wanted this movie to find new facts. We are not detectives. . . . Who are we? We are filmmakers. We just wanted to tell a dramatic story.”
