Hot Springs, July 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fort Smith native Alyse Eady has been crowned Miss Arkansas 2010 in the beauty pageants that was organized last night at Summit Arena in Hot Springs in the state of Arkansas. The winner of this year’s competition is 22-year-old resident of Fort Smith who is known to have completed her graduation from Ouachita Baptist University. However, this is not the first time that Alyse Eady has been declared the winner of a beauty contest as the 22-year-old also won the title of Miss Teen Arkansas-American the year 2004.

During Saturday night’s beauty contest, Alyse Eady was crowned Miss Arkansas 2010 by the outgoing beauty queen Sarah Slocum of Sheridan who was the winner in the last year’s edition of the competition. The 2,500 people who gathered at Hot Springs’ Summit Arena watched the moment of glory of the 22-year-old Fort Smith native when it was announced that she had bagged this year’s Miss Arkansas title. Apart from the $20,000 scholarship that Alyse Eady would be receiving as the winner of the beauty pageant, she would also be liable to awards, gifts as well as clothing worth around $50,000.

The Miss Arkansas beauty pageant is considered to be a stepping stone for participating in the Miss America beauty contest as the representative selected from the state takes part in the latter. Hence, by winning the Miss Arkansas title, Alyse Eady has the added responsibility of representing her state in the Miss America beauty pageant which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas during the month of January next year.
