allison-reedVancouver, British Columbia, Feb 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Republic of Georgia, who suffered a great loss at the very beginning of the Vancouver Olympics Winter games is now pinning their hope on Allison Reed- who competes in Ice Dancing. The Ice Dancing Compulsory round which took place on Friday saw Allison Reed and her partner Otar Japaridze put up an average performance. They are the first competitor this year from the Republic Of Georgia.

Allison Reed is an American. She met her partner Otar Japaridze last May and got selected within four months for this year’s Olympics. She was provided with the citizenship of Georgia within few months as the President wanted her to represent the nation. It is interesting to note that Allison Reed’s two other siblings are representing Japan for the same event. Cathy Reed and Chris Reed have taken the podium for Japan.

On Friday, the Ice Dancing Compulsory round saw some brilliant performances. Allison Reed and Otar Japaridze tried to give their best, but at the Olympic arena their performance was not up to the mark. They were unable to provide the much needed facial expression which made their performance look mundane. Their moves seemed constricted. The works of leg that mark the ice dancing competition was missing in their performance as they performed no extensions of legs. The couple ended up at 20th position while the Reed Siblings representing Japan were two positions ahead. Cathy and Chris Reed held the 18th Position. This is Allison Reed and Otar Japaridze’s fourth competition and they have yet not passed a year of performing together.
