Sheryl Crow Washington, May 16 (ANI): A video-song by Sheryl Crow, Elvis Costello, Norah Jones and Michael McDonald, originally meant to poke fun at charity singles on U.S. TV comedy ‘30 Rock’, has now become a YouTube sensation.

The foursome, along with the Beastie Boys, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Mary J. Blige and Cyndi Lauper, performed a ‘We Are The World’-type song as part of a plotline on the hit show.

It was Alec Baldwin’s TV executive character, Jack Donaghy, who brought the stars together for his charity ‘Kidney Now’, reports Contactmusic.

The charity aims to boost kidney donations so his long-suffering father, played by Alan Alda, can get the organ he needs to live.

The hilarious all-celebrity video to accompany the song ‘He Needs a Kidney’ shows all the pop, rock and R&B stars with a straight face.

The song has become a big hit on YouTube after airing on TV on May 15, and is also up for sale as a download on iTunes.com.

All the proceeds from the sales will go to the National Kidney Foundation. (ANI)
