erald McRaney is in the news again. Not just for joining the cast of Lucasfilm’s “RedTails” about Tuskegee Airmen, playing tough-as-nails General Luntz who was entrusted with assigning RedTails as bomber-escorts during missions over Nazi held territory(phew!) but as being the surprise appearance guest star on CBS Tele Networks 9th Season finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in the episode titled “All in.”

McRaney of “Jericho” fame plays Wiley “Eli” Schindler, and is joined in guest appearance by Cynthia Watros (of “Lost”) playing Barbie aka “Libby” Aubrey, both suspects in a poker scam where the stakes run high enough to involve murder. While Watros’s character happens to be the employer at the Silver Dollar Diner where her employee is the first victim in a string of murders that follow, McRaney plays a collector of chips who becomes inextricably present in the list of suspects.

The entire episode centers around the the poker scam which involves a cache of missing chips from a closed-down casino. The Hux club Casino becomes the sinister reason for a series of murders while the fast paced events characteristic to the show make sure that the finale lives up to the reputation of the rest of the season for being an absolute thrill-fest. Marking the end of the first season with Lawrence Fishburne’s hard-to-miss predominance, this season also marks another first: in view of the intensity of the episode, Langston being driven to use deadly force, ostensibly for the first time in his entire career as a Crime Scene Investigator.

“All in” all, a show to remember.
