Apr 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singing sensation Alicia Keys has been making news this week as she was the guest mentor of the contestants of the popular musical reality show “American Idol” for Tuesday night’s episode. The 29 year old noted musical artist provided all the contestant sound advice about improvising their performances as they went ahead to perform inspirational tracks for Tuesday night’s episode.

However, Alicia Keys’ association with the hit reality show did not just end here as she was also part of the “Idol Gives Back” segment of the show on Wednesday night which was a fund raising event. Alicia Keys was among the large number of celebrities who joined hands with the aim of raising funds for charities concerning children in the United States as well as other countries. The popular “Unbreakable” singer enthralled the audiences with her rendition of her latest ballad “Un-Thinkable” that kept all the viewers asking for more. The musical artist also displayed her skills at the piano to perform the sequel to her track “Empire State of Mind (Pt. II) Broken Down” with Jay-Z.

However, it seems that the singer’s skills as a mentor is not as impressive as her singing owing to the fact that despite following her advice during their performance on Tuesday night, the contestants did not seem to have been successful in winning the accolades of all the judges of the show. Apart from Crystal Bowersox, few other contestants managed to win unanimous appreciation of the judges. In the episode last night, Texas singer Tim Urban was the one who was unfortunately voted out.
