Alfred Hitchcock Flick “Strangers On A Train” Shown On TCM

Apr 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The immensely popular Alfred Hitchcock movie, “Strangers on a Train” was shown on TCM television channel on Saturday night. The extensive popularity that the 1951 flick enjoys can be understood from the fact that a large number of viewers tuned in to watch the much acclaimed movie last night.
The classic flick which features well known stars such as Robert Walker, Farley Granger, Leo G., Ruth Roman, among others in some of the pivotal roles, is considered to be one of the most impressive thriller movies created by Alfred Hitchcock. “Strangers on a Train” which is slotted in the 32nd position in the AFI’s 100 Years… 100 Thrills list still manages to grab the attention of viewers and keep them glued to the television screens with its interesting as well as intriguing turn of events. The high power thrilling elements showcased in the movie was once again successful in entertaining the audiences to the fullest when it was aired on TCM channel last night. All the Alfred Hitchcock ardent fans surely did not miss this opportunity to watch one of his most impressive works once again.
The 1951 film, which is the movie adaptation of a novel by American novelist Patricia Highsmith, had also been nominated for multiple awards following its release. The movie received an Academy award nomination in the category of Best Black and White Cinematography as well as was nominated by the National Board of Review for Best Picture. Moreover, Alfred Hitchcock was also recognized for this movie as he received a nomination by the Directors Guild of America in the Best Director category.
