Apr 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Alexa Ray Joel, the 24-year-old daughter of singer and lyricist Billy Joel, and supermodel Christie Brinkley will soon feature in a shampoo commercial for the Prell brand. As the brand ambassador, Alexa Ray Joel will be the chief spokesperson and the star face in the marketing of the shampoo.

Critics reported on the advertisement being very similar to the 1980’s commercial of Prell which featured Christie Brinkley, her mother, as the face of Prell shampoo. The advertisement shows Alexa Ray Joel washing and then showing off her shampooed hair just as Christie Brinkley had done almost 25 years back.

Alexa Ray Joel is chiefly a singer and songwriter like her father, and also plays the piano like her mother. In the Prell commercial, we see her sitting in front of a grand white piano and later humming to the song “Hideaway”, her own composition. Thus in her we find a perfect balanced combination of genes from mother and father.

The commercial marks Alexa Ray Joel’s debut in the world of television advertising. It is being reported that people will watch the advertisement only out of curiosity to see how the singer performs in her mother’s shoes. Prell, already a very popular shampoo among the Americans, is looking forward to refresh its advertisement as well as its market by roping in Alexa Ray Joel. The Chief Executive of Ultimark Products, which showcases the shampoo, says that there has been an increase in sales of the shampoo after the participation of Alexa Ray Joel in their advertising campaign.
