June 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Musical artist Alexa Ray Joel has revealed that she was not attempting to a kill herself when she was admitted to a medical facility after an accidental overdose last year. The 24 year old daughter of supermodel Christie Brinkley and music legend Billy Joel also talked about the difficulties of living a life in the limelight since childhood owing to her celebrity parents.

In an interview to Chris Cuomo on 20/20 which was aired on ABC last night, the young musical artist divulged that she resorted to taking homeopathic aspirin pills to deal with the pain that she had to endure after she broke up with her boyfriend, musician Jimmy Riot.

The singer emphasized that she took the pills to numb the pain that she was going through but had never attempted to harm herself or take her own life. Alexa Ray Joel also went on to give details of how her life fell apart after she was dumped by the musician boyfriend which had left her completely heartbroken. At the same time, the young singer further added that the fact that actually disturbs her is that the media projected the incident as a overdose although she had never been suicidal.

In the revealing interview, Alexa Ray Joel also expressed her desire to not be compared with her renowned parents while urging all her listeners to evaluate her music on its own merits.

The singer, who is no busy promoting her latest musical venture “Notice Me” emphasized that she has her own voice, sound and a different personality which is away from the shadows of her celebrity parents.
