Alejandro Sanz, Tony Bennett perform in Mexico

Amy Winehouse Mexico City, Oct 28 (IANS/EFE) Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz shared the stage with veteran crooner Tony Bennett during an awards gala in Mexico City.

The sinters performed together, mixing Spanish and English in “Yesterday I heard the rain”/”Esta tarde vi llover” by Mexican Armando Manzanero, whom they invited up on stage to share in the applause.

The song appears on the 85-year-old Bennett’s new album “Duets II”, which he recently released and on which he presents a number of his hits in duet performances with singers such as Lady Gaga and the late Amy Winehouse.

At this 10th edition of the Luna Awards, which recognize outstanding concert performance in Mexico, the Mexican group Camila was named the winner in the Spanish-language pop category, topping international stars like Ricky Martin, Shakira and Enrique Iglesias.

The winners in the pop in a foreign language category were the Black Eyed Peas, who beat out artists such as Lady Gaga, Pitbull and Kylie Minogue.
