Los Angeles, Nov 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Academy has unveiled the new hosts for the next awards function in 2010, and the hosts are Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

Alec Baldwin has also been an Academy Award nominee himself. He also stars in the U.S. television comedy 30 Rock, said that, “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars - it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Whereas, the 64-year-old movie star Steve Martin, who is currently touring in support of his latest banjo album, said that he was “happy to co-host the Oscars with [his] enemy Alec Baldwin.” He has already hosted the Oscars twice before, in 2001 and 2003. But it is Alec Baldwin’s debut in 2010 at the Oscar hosting opportunity.

The Oscars award ceremony will be held on March 7, 2010, in Los Angeles and will also air on ABC in the United States.

There have been mixed reactions from the Film fraternity and other people, as the pairing is very offbeat in nature. It was a much-discussed topic on the micro blogging site Twitter as well.
