Alaska Blob: Oceanic ‘UFO’ (Unfathomable Floating Object)

In what appears to resemble a Hollywood sci-fi flick, a recent bit of intriguing environmental news has zapped the scientific community, who seem to be at a loss to identify a considerable body of gooey mass that is slowly but steadily making it’s way down the Arctic Ocean’s Chukchi Sea, north of the Bering Strait.
Dramatically nicknamed the ‘Alaska Blob‘ after the Blobby, monstrous protagonists of numerous horror/sci-fi Hollywood creations, this thick, dark, unidentified mass of slime of probable biological origin, has caught the imagination of a vast population of netizens (especially following the posting of a video of it on YouTube) who have already begun to make theatrical conjectures about a mutated being in the making, that would rise and unleash terror, just like in the movies!
Notwithstanding the sensational imagination, the fact still remains, however, that the considerably large (measuring almost a few square miles), dark, viscous, foul-smelling mass has eluded definite scientific identification. Samples air-lifted by the U.S. Coast Guard and a team of research scientists, and subjected to preliminary tests strongly indicate biological origin, and does not qualify either as algae or as oil.
The intriguing ‘blob’ besides being decidedly unpleasant on the senses owing to it’s obvious physical characteristics, also reportedly has been drawing in jelly fish and sea birds that keep getting glued to it’s gooey strands, fueling fertile imaginations even further. Also, there have been reports of “hairy strands” being spotted on the substance.
Evidently, the deep, dark mysteries of the deep continue to get murkier and murkier all the time.

It is because of the warming of Alaska. With there record heat they had this spring. Making for algae to grow a lot| faster. This is my best guess, bob
