Al Pacino ‘to play Phil Spector in a movie’
October 9th, 2010 - 6:15 pm ICT by ANILondon, Oct 9 (ANI): Al Pacino will apparently play legendary record producer Phil Spector in a TV film to be written and directed by David Mamet.
According to HBO, the film will be Spector’s own story.
He had recorded acts of the likes of the Beatles, Cher and the Ramones at one time.
Spector, 70, convicted for the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson, is currently serving a prison sentence of 19 years to life for murder.
Pacino, 70 had starred in the HBO film ‘You Don’t Know Jack’ this year as Jack Kevorkian, who served time in prison for assisting in the suicide of a terminally ill man.
The untitled Spector film is in the early stages of development, reports the Mirror. (ANI)
