There were several questions on the forth coming movie which Ash answered with great patience. Then there was a question put to her about her chance of working with the Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh. Pat came Ash’s reply that she had met the director at a recent Awards function and he had asked her when they would be working together again. Ash was quick to add that it was Rituda who had to tell her when.
However she did mention that for the past two years she had been quite packed with her schedules and it was now that she had some time. Her reply clearly said that the ball was in the director’s court now.
Rituparno Ghosh, the ace film maker of Kolkata has made some of the most fascinating genre of films spread through a wide spectrum.
This is the same director who has had the privilege of directing the mega star Big B in ‘King Lear’. This is also the same director who directed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the classic film ‘Choker Bali’, where Ash had essayed the role of Binodini.
The film revolved around a widow called Binodini who falls in love with Mahendra played by lead actor of the Bengali film industry, Prosenjit.
Mahendra, a married man, who goes through the pain of falling in love again and his wife Ashalata, played by Raima Sen who also gets entangled in the swing of events made this film quite intense and interesting.
However, it remains to be seen when these two enigmas of cinema, Rituparno Ghosh and Aishwarya work together again.
