Ailing Tom Jones scraps more gigs

London, April 2 (ANI): Sir Tom Jones’ fans have again been left disappointed - the legendary singer has axed more gigs in the Far East following a serious bout of acute laryngitis.

Jones, 69, cancelled two gigs in Singapore and the Philippines at the weekend (27/28Mar10) after he had to leave the stage on Friday night (26Mar10) after crooning just two songs.

Physicians asked him to give complete rest to his throat, and his publicist assured the star would reschedule the shows for the following week.

However, the Welsh singer not only scrapped a show in Singapore on Thursday (01Apr10), but he will also not be seen performing on Saturday (03Apr10) in Korea.

“Sir Tom could risk serious permanent damage to his vocals (if he performed). We are deeply sorry for disappointing and inconveniencing the fans,” the Daily Express quoted a statement on his website, as saying.

Fans can get a refund from the point of purchase. (ANI)
