Adrianne Palicki Scares As Psycho Killer In “Criminal Minds”

Jan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Adrianne Palicki appeared in the popular show ‘Criminal Minds’ in its latest episode, aired on Jan 26. She donned the shoes of a serial killer who foes on a killing spree along with her boyfriend, with whom she connects mostly due to the fact that they share a similar past and mindset. The character is dark and distinctly unstable, with a murky past rife with sexual and emotional abuse by her own father. The former ‘Lone Star’ lady gave an effortless performance, donning the garb of a psychopath with ease.
The actress joked that being cast in ‘Criminal Minds’ came as a catharsis for her. Laughing, she said that the killer role enabled her to get over he anger and resentment at having her hit show, “Lone Star”, canceled. She said that after she was cast in the role, she got into the skin of her character by imagining that her victims are all those responsible for having been responsible for canceling the show, for which she received quite an amount of critical acclaim. Her heartbreak is quite understandable, considering that this was the second time that she had managed to garner praise from the critics; before this, she was quite highly praised for her enactment of the unconventional Tyra in ‘Friday Night Lights.’
Her role in ‘Criminal Minds’, feels Adrianne Palicki, is quite out of the box. Although the background of the character is quite similar to many other such characters, her approach is markedly different; for one, she does not operate alone but has a partner in crime, literally. However, she also reveals that it was not an easy role to assume, and definitely scary.
