Nov. 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems like the American Music Awards 2009 held on Sunday was full of surprises. Jennifer Lopez’s fall was an honest mistake but the sexually simulating performance delivered by “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was definitely not. Lambert was the one chosen to deliver the closing act, and he chose to do it with a bang. The American Idol runner-up faked up having oral sex with a dancer and also openly kissed a guy (one of the musicians on the stage), full on the mouth.

This “stimulated sex” act was met by more than 1500 complaints by the viewers and while questioned by sources, Lambert said that “the kiss was in the moment”. The producer’s of the show are unreachable for comments over the “mild complaints”. Lambert, however did comment on the issue saying that if the audience was upset then that just meant that they were discriminating against the singer, who is rumored to be gay. He also said, “I had fun, my dancers had fun, the audience that was in the Nokia (theater) had fun. Anybody else who was watching it and enjoying it, thank you for being entertained”.

There has also been news that some campaigners have used words like “indecent”, “tasteless”, and “vulgar”, for the performance and their website said that they were outraged. The gay kiss is also being compared to the lesbian kiss shared between Madonna and Britney Spears in the 2003 MTV Music Awards. Lady GaGa was not the one to stay behind with all her co-performers raising eyebrows. Her performance saw a “bottle-breaking spell ” while her piano was set on fire. Less controversial but nonetheless dubious.
