New York City, Apr 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former runner-up of the musical reality show ‘American Idol’ – Adam Lambert is all set to be a mentor for the show’s current participants. He is also going to perform his hit number ‘Whataya Want From Me’ on the show on the 14th of April. The theme for the next week’s performance is yet to be decided, but the mentor has already been decided.

The pop singer admitted that the news was true on his Twitter page. He tweeted on the popular microblogging and social networking site Twitter that, “It’s true! In addition to performing on Idol April 14th, I will be mentoring the top 8 on the 13th. I feel honored to be asked.”

This is perhaps the first time that the musical reality show American Idol is inviting young stars to be the mentor on the show. Generally they used to have old and established stars who would mentor the contestants in the previous seasons. Adam Lambert is very confident that his lack of experience would not affect his mentoring skills. He said that, “Even though I’m just at the start of my recording career, I hope to lend some insight as one who’s been thru the Idol adventure.” Adam Lambert tweeted on Twitter that he was “Excited!!”
