Adam Cook Passes AwayMay 4th, 2009 - 10:41 pm ICT by GD
Reigning American Idol David Cook choked and struggled to check his tears on Sunday morning as he announced the death of his beloved elder brother Adam. Adam, a lawyer by profession, was only 36 and had been valiantly struggling with brain cancer for some time now. Adam passed away at 1 a.m. on Sunday morning in a hospice in Terre Haute, Indianapolis.
David Cook revealed the heartbreaking news at a speech he made at the 12th annual Race for Hope, an event that was held in Washington, D.C. The annual event is intended to raise funds for the research of brain cancer.
At the time of his death Adam was encircled by his wife Kendra, and his children. Also present were his father and his step mother. The crowd was stunned as Cook made the announcement. Cook was participating in the event for Brain cancer research and the event had raised $2 million.
David Cook had joined 9,000 runners this morning and finished the 3.1 miles in twenty-eight minutes.
Race for Hope rightly observed that David’s heart was even bigger and more harmonious than his gifted voice. David’s benevolence and genuineness added to the charm of his melodious voice. That is also perhaps why David has such a broad fan following. David’s touching song “Permanent,” which he had written with his brother in mind, is a beautiful piece of music for anyone who has known/loved a suffering person.
