Actress Lisa Blount Dies Aged 53

Lisa BlountLos Angeles, Oct 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Academy award-winning filmmaker Lisa Blount was found dead at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas on Wednesday. The actress, who was best known for edging the character of Debra Winger’s best friend in the 1982 drama “An Officer and a Gentleman,” was 53 at the time of her unfortunate demise. Any information about the cause of death of the noted actress has not been available to the media as yet, however, authorities have ruled out involvement of any kind of foul play.

While talking to reporters, Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper revealed that although Lisa Blount’s body was found on Wednesday, she might have died as early as Monday. At the same time, it has stated that a thorough investigation has been conducted to ascertain the circumstances that led to the “Prince of Darkness” star’s demise although no foul play is being suspected as of now. The news of Lisa Blount’s sudden death has left her large number of fans across the world rather dismayed as they are still to come to terms with the fact that the ravishing “An Officer and a Gentleman” star is no more.

Lisa Blount bagged the Oscar award in the year 2002 in the category of best live-action short film for the flick “The Accountant” which she produced while her husband Roy McKinnon directed and starred in it. Apart from the Academy award, the 58-year-old actress is also known to have received a Golden Globe nomination for her true to life portrayal of Debra Winger’s best friend in the flick “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
