Actress Lindsay Lohan back in court for her progress hearing
July 22nd, 2011 - 1:31 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, July 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lindsay Lohan has appeared before the LAX Airport Courthouse for her progress report hearing. The Mean Girls star was ordered to appear before the court with regards to her probation.
The 24-year-old actress was accompanied to the court by her lawyer Shawn Holly. She wore a long black frock over a platform heel. She appeared before Judge Stephanie Sautner on Thursday morning.
Lohan has completed her thirty-five day house arrest period and she is currently undergoing her 480 hour community service following the sentence she received for stealing a necklace from a jewel store in Venice earlier this year. The actress as part of the plea bargain pleaded no contest to the reduced charged of misdemeanor theft.
The original charge of felony grand theft was given to Lohan after she allegedly walked out of the boutique with a $2,500 jewel without paying. Lohan returned the jewel to the police when they obtained a warrant to search her apartment. The police stated that they had a surveillance video that showed that indeed Lohan stole the jewel.
Lohan has been in and out of court on several occasions since she was first arrested on DUI charges in 2006. Many people believe that she has been often treated leniently as far as the court system is concerned.
