Actress Jill Clayburgh dies of chronic leukemia

jill1 Connecticut, Nov 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jill Clayburgh died at her Connecticut home on Friday. The cause of her death was chronic leukemia. She had the disease for the past 21 years now and her crew members on “Love and Other Drugs” revealed during a press conference on Saturday that they had no idea that she had such a disease.

At the press conference the director Edward Zwick along with two co-stars on the movie, Jake Gyllehnhaal and Anne Hathaway were present. They were full of praise for the courage shown by the late actress during her struggle with the disease. They wished the family all the best in their quest to overcome the loss. On the screen, Jill was the mother of Gyllehnhaal and he was full of praise for her.

He said that, “I think Jill is unfortunately one that didn’t have as much time as some, it’s a testament that we worked together for two days and when I heard this morning… she’s just amazing. I know my parents just were recently divorced and my mother said that ‘An Unmarried Woman’ was such an incredible film for her to watch, you know, and helped her so much. I think the work that she did, the woman that she is and was, she was just incredible”.
