Actor Shelley Malil sentenced to life in prison
December 17th, 2010 - 10:07 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Dec 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Shelley Malil has been sentenced to life in prison for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend Kendra Beebe. The jury found him to be guilty of trying to attempt to murder his ex-girlfriend and so they sentenced him to serve life in prison.
According to E Online, Shelley said that, “I want to do whatever I need to do to make sure I make right from the wrong that I did.” He told the jury that when he came to Kendra’s house then he was shocked to the core of his heart to find her with another man. He said in his defense that he lost his mind and became totally disoriented and that he used his knife to stab as he thought that someone was attacking him.
The ’40-year-old Virgin’ actor could apply for parole in 12 years. However his lawyers said that his sentence could be reduced and he could be freed after just 9 years, if he is on his best behavior during his jail stint.
Shelley’s ex-girlfriend – Kendra Beebe was mercilessly stabbed more than 20 times. Due to the brutal stabbing Kendra suffered a number of injuries like a punctured lung, and numerous cuts on her chest, back, arms, neck and back.
