mal New York, Apr 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor John Malkovich’s legal drama continues. Earlier it had been reported that the actor was only entitled to $670,000 out of the $2.2 million that he had invested with Bernie Madoff. The infamous Bernie Madoff is already cooling his heels in jail, for duping hundreds of customers to the tune of billions of dollars.

However John’s lawyers are not taking things lying down, and they have complained to a judge who is looking after the Bernie Madoff bankruptcy case that John is entitled to $2.2 million, and not a lesser amount. They filed the legal papers, of their request in the US Bankruptcy Court on Thursday saying that the trustee who handled the estate made a big mistake, when he evaluated that John should get only a portion of the $2.2 million that he lost.

According to reports, on March 12, 2009, Madoff pleaded guilty to 11 federal offenses, including securities fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, perjury and making false filings with the SEC. Bernie Madoff was sentenced to the maximum sentence of a whooping 150 years in prison earlier this year. Madoff has apologized to his victims, saying, “I have left a legacy of shame, as some of my victims have pointed out, to my family and my grandchildren. This is something I will live in for the rest of my life. I’m sorry.”
