Actor Harold Gould Dies At 86 Owing To Prostrate Cancer

Harold GouldCalifornia, Sep 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Harold Gould, one of the most popular character actors in TV and films is no more. The veteran actor who has acted in numerous TV sitcoms and movies passed away in California after battling prostrate cancer at the age of 86. in his last days he lived at the Motion Picture and Television Fund’s retirement community. In most of the roles in his career he played suave understanding gentleman. He also shard screen space with Betty White in The Golden Girls where he essayed the role of a dashing widower.

Before making acting his profession Harold Gould used to teach acting in college. He was well versed in that department and did his Ph. D in dramatic speech and literature. He started his showbiz career in Broadway. Her role of Kid Twist in the critically acclaimed ‘The Sting’ won him oodles of critical praise. He also essayed the character of a Russian Count in Love and Death in 1975. He also earned accolades for his performance in Mel Brook directed ‘Silent Movie’ as Engulf a greedy corporate executive. During the 1960s and 1970s he became the prominent face in TV soaps and sitcoms. Even in the 1980s he appeared in a number of TV series which were immensely liked by the viewers.

Even though he began late as an actor compared to his contemporaries there is no denying the fact that very few actors have made so many achievements in their career. He is survived by his two sons, a daughter and his wife. The fans of the veteran actor are sad to know about his demise.
