Jan 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) For actor Eddie Furlong, the new year has surely begun on a rather bumpy note. The actor had been hitting the headlines for his forthcoming project “The Green Hornet” but just hours later, the star found himself being held behind bars. The 33-year-old actor was taken into custody on Tuesday for allegedly violating a restraining order that had been slammed against him by his estranged wife, Rachael Kneeland.

On Tuesday morning, Eddie Furlong made a court appearance for a progress hearing with regard to the restraining order that he has been facing. During the hearing, the judge was told that last month, the “Terminator” star had violated the restraining order by coming within 50 yards of his soon-to-be former wife owing to which the actor was kept in detention with a bail amounting to $75,000. Although the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has confirmed that Eddie Furlong was arrested by authorities for supposedly breaching the restraining order, details about how long the actor would have to stay behind bars remains unforthcoming. A representative of “The Green Hornet” star has not been available for any kind of comments in this regard.

Eddie Furlong and his estranged wife Rachael Kneeland have been involved in a heated separation with allegations of drug abuse, violent behavior slammed against the actor. Rachael Kneeland filed for divorce in the month of July, 2009 after three years of marriage while the custody of their son, Ethan turned into a bone of contention among the estranged couple. After filing for divorce, Eddie Furlong’s wife sought a restraining order alleging that the actor had threatened to commit suicide and was put under psychiatric lock-down.
