Actor David Nelson dies at age 74
January 13th, 2011 - 12:02 am ICT by BNO NewsLOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — Actor David Nelson, the last surviving cast member of the 1950s and 60s ‘The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet’, on Tuesday passed away after a long battle with colon cancer, a family spokesman confirmed. He was 74.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Nelson, of New York City, died at his Century City, California home.
In the famous ‘The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet’ TV show, Nelson starred alongside his mother, father and brother. Nelson, who has been immortalized with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, had his last film appearance in the 1990’s teen musical film ‘Cry-Baby,’ which stars Johnny Depp.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his sons John, Eric, James and Danny; daughter Teri; and seven grandchildren. Nelson’s marriage to June Blair ended in divorce in 1975.
