Las Vegas, Apr 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 45th annual Academy Country Music Awards was held with much elan at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday. Like all the previous years, even this year the much anticipated award ceremony turned out to be a star studded event and witnessed some of the greatest names in country music being awarded for their work over the year. The award ceremony also showcased scintillating performances by some of the much loved musical artist that kept the audiences completely enthralled.

Soon after the award ceremony was inaugurated by host Reba McEntire, singers Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood took the stage to perform a duet and later they were joined by Brad Paisley, Charlie Daniels and John Fogerty. It was indeed a lady’s night at the 45th annual ACM awards as both Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood turned out to be the big winners of the night taking home three and two honors respectively. Another musical band which made her presence felt at the award ceremony last night was the group Lady Antebellum which was able to register as many as five awards in the much anticipated ceremony that included record of the year, best vocal group as well as song of the year.

Some of the other musical artists whose works received honors during last night ceremony included Luke Bryan who was declared the best new artist, Brad Paisley who took home the top male vocalist for the fourth consecutive time, with Brooks and Dunn being announced the top vocal duo. Moreover, the show also included a number of performances that kept the audiences asking for more.
