July 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, who specialize in reviving the ancient embroidery techniques like chikankari and zardozi, are planning a big bash to celebrate 25 years of their partnership. They will complete 25 years of working together in next year.

The veteran designers have planned a spectacle of fashion throughout the year. They are in full preparation mood, which includes launching their own merchandise like books and perfumes. There is a buzz that Abu and Sandeep will tie up with Bollywood celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan among others.

According to a fashion industry insider, “Lavishness and extravagance have always been liked by Abu-Sandeep and it has always reflected in their ensembles as well as in preparation for shows. Now, as the designers are completing 25 years of union and have already designed for who’s who of India, a grand celebration is sure to happen throughout the year. Aishwarya has been close to the designers so her presence is sure for the celebration”.

As per the sources, the events by Abu-Sandeep may have industrialist like Ambanis, Mittals, Jindals, and Mahindras provided they own their creations.

Sandeep has not disclosed the specific names of the celebrities they are roping in. However, he said, “We expect many of our friends from the industry and outside to be a part of the celebrations. We want to surprise everyone, so are busy in preparation of how to approach the year”.

“We have made a series of plans like we will launch our signature merchandise to rejoice Abu-Sandeep’s 25th year. There is a plan of launching three books detailing our history and how we developed the line and reached what we are today. We are also planning to launch merchandises like perfumes and others to continue the celebration across the year. Our city will also experience a big show”, Sandeep concluded.
