Karthi’s “Aayirathil Oruvan’ and “Paiyya’ were in the middle of a great conflict as both the films were slated to hit the screens on the same day as Pongal. Later, came the news that Lingusamy has planned to release “Paiyya’ prior to Selvaraghavan’s “Aayirathil Oruvan’.

But now we hear that the issue has been amicably resolved and “Aayirathil Oruvan’ will be released on January 14, while Lingusamy’s “Paiyya’ will see the light of the theaters after 35 days.

Both the films are eagerly expected with their songs already becoming chartbusters. “Aayirathil Oruvan’ is a fantasy-thriller featuring Karthi, Andrea and Reema Sen in lead roles, while “Paiyya’ is a racy entertainer that is loosely based on the Hollywood thriller “Hitcher’.

This Sunday (December 13), the producers of “Aayirathil Oruvan’ will be launching the film’s trailer and screen couple of songs for special invitees and distributors.

It is worth mentioning here that the satellite rights of “Paiyya’ has already been acquired by Kalainyar TV while the makers of “Aayirathil Oruvan’ are planning to sell the rights after the launch of trailer.
