aaronMay 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The five remaining “American Idol” contestants were shortened to four on the Wednesday night “American Idol” Season 9 elimination round. The contestant to leave the Idol stage was Aaron Kelly who received the least amount of viewer’s vote. It seems that Aaron Kelly was unable to impress the audience this time with his rendition of “Fly Me to the Moon” in the Frank Sinatra theme week. Though the singer did not mention that he was shocked by the result, his looks no doubt made it clear to the viewers that the “American Idol” contestant was disheartened by the Wednesday result.

Aaron Kelly was at the bottom two with Michael Lynche on Wednesday. Both the contestants had performed well in Frank Sinatra theme week. After Aaron Kelly sang “Fly Me to the Moon” on the performance night three out of the four judges’ comments went on his favor. Judge Randy Jackson said that though he was worried that whether Aaron Kelly would be able to do justice to the song, he was happy to find that the singer did a good job. Ellen DeGeneres on her part said that she liked his vocals. Simon Cowell was however critical and said that the performance lacked conviction. However, where the audience is the ultimate judge nothing could be said for sure. Michael Lynche who was saved by the judges landed on the bottom two again.

After the decision taken by the viewers was announced, a shocked Aaron Kelly said that he had enjoyed his tenure in “American Idol” Season 9 and that he had had a blast. The “American Idol” Season 9 is now left with four contestants, Michael Lynche, Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze and Casey James.
