June 8, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Internationally acclaimed, renowned fashion designer, ,Sanjana Jon opened her first ever store Aamouage in New Delhi under the label of Sanjana Jon. The store features her signature labels revealing feisty and sophisticated styles for both work and play for women. The collection that basically offers bridal and evening wear also supports the cause of saving the girl child and is meant to spread awareness about it.

Sanjana said, “I believe in fashion with heart. And everything I have ever done has been for a cause.”

The showstopper for this brilliant designer was Shibani Kashyap, who had recently launched her new album called “My Free Spirit’. She wore a bridal collection put together by Sanjana Jon and Shreenath Jewellers. “Doing something for a cause adds so much more meaning to life and I totally support this noble cause,” said the talented Shibani Kashyap.

Sanjana’s signature collection includes sarees, lehengas, salwar kameez, kurtis as well as Indo-western wear. Models showcased a variety of dresses at the occasion, ranging from heavy bridal and conventional wear to evening wear and party dresses. The men wore formal shirts in rich fabric with beaded designs. Jon herself was dressed in a flamboyant pink dress.

The well-known designer has also worked with Tihar jail prisoners in order to provide them with jobs when they are released. “The main purpose behind this is to build confidence in these inmates,” said Jon, who is continuing work on this project.

Jon’s launch was a huge success with socialites across the city, cramming the aristocratic store. She is expecting to open stores in Mumbai and Bangalore soon.

Sanjana Jon announced a ten day tour of six cities in India, with Miss Universe Stefania Fernandez to spread awareness of AIDS. The tour will try to get the message of saving the girl child as well as AIDS prevention across. Particularly to the slum-dwellers and sex-workers of the country.
