Aamir Khan New Delhi, Feb 19 (IANS) Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who had quit a government appointed panel to examine proposed ammendments to the Copyright Act, Friday withdrew his resignation.
In a letter to Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal, Aamir said: “Sir, I have given a lot of thought to your request to take back my resignation. I have also read the letter forwarded by other members reposing faith on my integrity… I am withdrawing my resignation.”

“The initiative taken by you (Sibal) is very important. It is a welcome step by you and your ministry,” a HRD ministry official quoted Aamir as saying.

Aamir had Wednesday resigned from the 10-member committee following reported differences with committee member and lyricist Javed Akhtar.

The actor had said that his fellow members had attempted to attack him in public “by printing lies” about him “thereby turning the attention away from a genuine debate about copyright issues”.
