Apr 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The horror movie buffs love watching the cult movie named ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ which was released in 1984. Even though it did not win accolades when it was released later it assumed a cult status among horror movie fans. Today a remake of the original movie is releasing with the same name. The mysterious killer Freddy Krueger stalking a group of teenagers created a sensation among horror movie lovers. Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp played a small a part in the original movie. The remake is sure to draw comparison with the original movie. The theme of the movie revolves around a bunch of teenagers who get stalked by a horribly disfigured man with knives in the places of his fingers. As long as they are awake, they are safe but as they fall sleep they get slaughtered by him. The parents of the teens know the secret.

Micheal bay has produced the remake. The new film has got a twist in the story and the villain has been portrayed as a pedophile. The trailer of the movie is already available on the web and the interested people can get an idea what the new movie is all about. The critics feel the remake may fail to create the sensation that was achieved by the original movie. Sure, the visual effects are far improved compared to the original movie, but a horror film needs more than eerie sound effects and computer generated visuals to leave an impression amidst the viewers.

In the new movie Academy award winner Jackie Earle Haley plays the role immortalized by Robert Englund in the original. The makeup while impressive gives Jackie Earle Haley an alien like look.
