August 16, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): American socialite and television personality Nicole Richie has tweeted about the introduction of a new member to her family. She has welcomed a cat named Tabitha Jones Madden along with her beau Joel Madden .

The cat was found crying outside her home on a dark and lonely night, the 28 year old Richie informed us through her website.

Richie is a mother of a two year old daughter Harlow and her son Sparrow will turn one year next month. At first, she thought the cat was her neighbors so she ignored the little animal. But the cat returned to her doorstep after one week. It looked thin and was clearly starving for days, Richie wrote.

The ‘Kids in America’ star could not resist her for the second time and fed the kitten. It has been two months, so Richie says that she can call it hers safely now. It seems that Richie has emotionally got attached to this little cat so much so that she has made an announcement about it in her Twitter page.

Nicole, the adopted daughter of soul singer Lionel Richie, is best known for her performance in the Fox reality television series ‘The Simple Life’. She participated in it along with her childhood best friend Paris Hilton. She also had been a member of the rock band called ‘Darling’.

Richie had acted in the movie ‘Kids in America’ in 2005. She has also done a few television shows like ‘Eve’, ‘Rock Me Baby’, ‘American Dreams’, ‘8 Simple Rules’ and ‘Chuck’.
