June 4, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Fashion is in the air in our neighboring country Bangladesh as capital Dhaka gears up for the “Dhaka Fashion Week 2010′ at the Dhaka Club. With 14 well-known fashion houses of the country, the event will be commencing this evening.
The two day event is organized in association with the Dhaka Club and the Westin Dhaka. Dressed in the traditional attires like the sari, salwar-kameez, panjabi, fatua and tribal wear, almost 40 models are expected to hit the ramp. They will also showcase the fusion made of muslin, cotton, chiffon, silk fabrics in the fashion event.
Kawshiki Nasser Tupa, the renowned choreographer and director of Dhaka Fashion Week, shared the details of the event at a press conference at the Dhaka Club on Wednesday.
The latest designs by the fashion houses Sadakalo, Jatra, Anjan’s, Mansha, Roxana Salam, Fortuna and B-Plus will be showcased by the models on the first day of the fashion week.
With the background score featuring folk and Bengali songs, the top models of the country named Emi, Ruma, Nila, Tumpa, Zamshed and Asif Khan will catwalk on the ramp.
The grand finale on the second day will be conducted at Westin Dhaka on 5th June.
