Sep 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The second day of September, 2010, had a huge significance for the people of California. The day was celebrated throughout the state, in the name “90210 day,” since the date coincided perfectly with the California zip code. For the fans of the famous 90’s show, “Beverly Hills 90210,” and that probably includes the entire state, the day definitely carried extra weightage. Moreover, the day holds special significance as it arrives only once in a century when the date is aligned perfectly with the Californian zip code.

Although the celebrations did not include any parade, a must in most of the events that are centered around a particular ‘day,’ the Californians celebrated the day in their own way. The television channels also ensured some tweaking of the schedule in order to air one special episode of the reincarnated avatar of the 90’s teen drama, now simply called “90210.” Celebrations also took place in various parts of the state. For example, the old episodes of the original show were aired in the Paley Center for Media, and another gala party was hosted in Beverly Hills itself, the celebrity compere of the party being talk show host Larry King. The party, confirm sources, is going to be held across four days at a stretch.

Of course,not everyone feels the celebration is that good an idea. For some, it is simple cheesy. However, there are also some who feels that the day wasn’t celebrated enough. Certain insiders rued that the day could have been more of a success if the entire cast and crew of the series, old and new, would have appeared in a special reunion show.
