68th Golden Globe Awards 2011 Winners Declared

gg3Jan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was the night of glamor and glitz as the stars of American entertainment industry shined down to graced the celebrated event of 68th Golden Globe awards. The distinguished award function took place in Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California where the actors, actresses and media personalities walked the red carpet with their best attires to attend the ceremony and win the much coveted award. Veteran television and movie personality Ricky Gervais was the host of the show, who looked handsome and perfect for the gala evening in his black suit. David Fincher’s “The Social Network” bagged four awards for the night (Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Motion Picture and Best Original Score).

“The Kids Are All Right” grabbed the award for the Best Motion Musical/Comedy Picture and Annette Bening won the award for the Best Actress of the same category. Newly engaged stunning actress Natalie Portman got her award for the Best Actress for her commendable performance in “Black Swan”. Suave and sizzling actor Colin Firth won the Best Actor award for “The King’s Speech”. “Toy Story 3″ was awarded Golden Globe in the category of the Best Animated Category. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo received awards for the Best Supporting Actor and Actress respectively for “The Fighter”. Veteran actor Robert De Niro received Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award and the actor thanked all his fans and the show organizers for such an honorable trophy.

“Boardwalk Empire” on HBO received the award for the Best Series/Drama in television. Steve Buscemi, the protagonist of the same series received award for the Best Actor and Katey Sagal bagged award for the Best Actress. Popular television presentation “Carlos” received award for the Best Miniseries or Movie.
