Los Angeles, Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much anticipated 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night and like every year even this time around the ceremony turned out to be a star studded event. Apart from honoring artists who have managed to showcase an impressive body of work throughout the year, the ceremony also witnessed some stunning performances by eminent personalities that kept the audiences asking for more. Viewers sitting at home also got the opportunity to witness the spectacular event as it was aired live on CBS.

Woman power ruled the 2010 Grammy awards night as pop diva Beyonce Knowles created a record by registering as many as six Grammy trophies which included the Song of the Year honor. However, country singer Taylor Swift was not left far behind as she managed to emerge victorious in four categories which included the much coveted Album of the year award. Meanwhile, rock band Kings of Leon grabbed the Record of the Year honor for their hit track “Use Somebody” while music band Zac Brown Band was recognized as the Best New Artist on the basis of their album “The Foundation.” The Song of the Year award went to the popular track “Single Ladies” by songwriters Beyonce Knowles, Thaddis Harrell, Christopher Stewart, Terius Nash and the hip hop band Black Eyed Peas registered three Grammy trophies.

One of the significant highlights of the evening was the tribute provided to late King of Pop Michael Jackson, who was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award that was received by his children Prince and Paris Jackson.
