42 penalised for Games lane violations
October 4th, 2010 - 9:27 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS) The Delhi Traffic Police Monday issued challans to 42 vehicles for entering into the Commonwealth Games lane and issued notices to 19 others for violating the restrictions. The police also impounded two vehicles for entering into the restricted lane.
“So far, 959 challans have been issued, 163 notices have been sent and 20 vehicles have been impounded for violating the Games lane restrictions,” said a senior police official.
The Delhi Traffic Police enforced restrictions on the Games lane Sep 23 which will continue till Oct 14 when the Commonwealth Games are over.
The Games lane violators are imposed a fine of Rs.2.000.
