28 Weeks LaterDec.30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Looks like the holiday season has come to a gory end with the TV channels shifting towards movies like “28 Weeks Later”, which aired on Dec 29, across the TVs of US. Directed by Juan Carios Fresnadillo, the movie is essentially a sequel to the 2002 released “28 Days Later”.

The plot of the movie revolves around the virus that killed everyone or almost everyone in the prequel. “28 Weeks Later” starts with the stat of the ‘post-apocalyptic’ world, where a handful of survivors are guarded by the military. The movie shows, that the infected people have all given in to hunger and died and what follows is an attempt to bring the world back together. While the NATO tries to repopulate the nation, two kids are brought in to the secure facility, having lost their parents. The scientists discover a sort of immunity within the genes of one of the kids. However, in spite of all the effort, the infection spreads from Britain to France.

The main stars of the movie include Robert Carlyle, Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne, Imogen Poots, Catherine McCormack, Harold Perrineau, Shahid Ahmed, Idris Elba, Amanda Walker and Emily Beecham. The movie was an instant hit, as was its prequel and was even made out into a graphic novel by the Fox Atomic Comics. The adverts for the movie were also talked about a lot, which consisted of graffiti (removable), that was sprayed across Britain. Twitter, which seems to have become the new news portal, is flooded with the twitterings of people who are currently watching the movie and have something to say about it.
