Los Angeles, Feb 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The filming of the hit television series “24″ has been halted for the time being. The lead character Jack Bauer, the super hero and the secret agent who is tough as nails never falls sick. However, the real life heroes do. Kiefer Sutherland who plays the role of Jack Bauer has fallen ill. According to reports, the star has ruptured cysts close to his kidneys which need surgery. The production team, Kiefer Sutherland and Fox Network have decided to go through with the minor elective procedure first and not wait for the season to end. Reports indicate that Kiefer Sutherland was not willing to miss work even for a day.

Though the lead star has taken a temporary leave, the fans have no reason to worry. It has been reported that there would apparently be no disruption in the television broadcast. The 42-year-old star Kiefer Sutherland probably got the cyst ruptured sometime in the last week. The production was carried out without him until last Friday, as the scenes which were filmed did not involve Kiefer Sutherland. However, for further shooting, the actor was needed. The star is expected to be back on the sets of the hit series “24″ by the end of next week.

The crew of “24,” Fox Network and all the fans of Kiefer Sutherland are eagerly waiting for the star to come back. Some of the associates of Kiefer Sutherland reportedly commented that since he is undergoing a minor surgery, he will recover fast and would be seen in the sets in the near future. It is being expected that he would not be taking more than a week to recover.
