On Sunday, at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angles, the 36th Daytime Emmy Awards took place.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to “Seasame Street” for its 40 years of contribution to education and entertainment. For the best drama category, “Bold and the Beautiful” took away the much coveted award.
Susan Haskell got into the limelight for winning the trophy for her work in “One Life To Lead”, as the Lead actress in drama series. For
“The Young And The Restless” series, its actor Christian LeBlanc who won the tag for Lead Actor.
Darin Brooks got the trophy for Best younger actor and Tamara Braun (Best supporting actress) for her role in “Days Of Our Lives”.
The Talk Show-informative trophy went to “The Tyra Banks Show” while the Talk Show Entertainment went to “Rachael Ray”. The most obvious and unanimously agreed trophy of the event went in declaring the Morning Program to be “Good Morning America”.
Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Barbara Walters got their recognition as talk show hosts, while Meredith Vieira was presented the Game Show Host tittle for her role on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”.
However the most dubious trophy winner could probably be “Cash Cab”, since America has such a large variety of contenders for the Game Audience Participation Show.
For Writing in Drama series the trophy went to “General Hospital”, a decision most would have approved of.
“Guiding Light” grabbed hold of one of the last Emmy Awards that it might win as it wraps up its television career after a marvelous 72 years.
