Said to be the movies “A Soul Men” curse when Bernie Mac died Saturday, then Isaac Hayes dies Sunday.
“Soul Men” the movie they have just finished expected to be coming out on November 14. Two pretty interesting guys, Soul Men starring Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes gone in a weekend.
Mac, 50 year-old Emmy-nominated comedian-actor had suffered from the disease sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs. His television sitcom, The Bernie Mac Show and the film series started with “Ocean’s 11″, Mac planned to retire from acting soon. He appeared in last year’s “Transformers” and his final three performances will be in November’s “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa”, “Soul Men” and 2009’s Old Dogs.
A tough weekend continues as Issac Hayes, the singer and songwriter whose luxurious, strutting funk arrangements in songs like “Theme From ‘Shaft’ ” defined the glories and excesses of soul music in the early 1970s, has been found dead on Sunday in his home. Members of his family found him at about 1:00 in the afternoon collapsed on the floor of a bedroom next to a treadmill that was still running, authorities said. Family members told authorities that he was being treated for a number of medical issues. Isaac Hayes died at the age of 65. He would have turned 66 in 10 days.
The cause of death is unknown at this point. Hayes – who was to turn 66 on August 20 – is the father of 12 children and the grandfather to 14. He has had four wives, reports Us Weekly. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and his new album was scheduled to be released on September 16.
